KJG, along with Schmidt Associates, were selected to assist the West Lafayette Community School Corporation in the planning, preparation, and coordination of several large building projects to help the district support their growing community. One of the projects was to expand and renovate their current West Lafayette Elementary School (formerly Cumberland Elementary). The school needed more classrooms, a secure entry, a new cafeteria with a full service kitchen, and overall general renovations to all the existing classrooms. KJG provided the design of these spaces to meet the unique needs of the school. The new modern entry blends well with the existing 1960’s building. The large open ceiling LGI / cafeteria provides space to house all students for a variety of programs.
